Who am I?
My name is César Guerra and I started dancing bachata, salsa and kizomba 7 years ago. It was love at first dance… with all of them at the same time, beginning my polyamory very early on… Shortly after i discovered dance festivals, and I attended my very first one.
I come from a background of videogames where everything is really well organized and detail-oriented so I was curious to see how dance festivals are… Long story short, it got cancelled in the middle of Saturday, all artists had to stay at friend’s houses because the hotel expelled them as the rooms were not paid being a total disaster… And I was like: «is every dance festival like this?» And despite all of that… I was captivated, I kept going to more festivals, which didn’t get cancelled, and the rest, as they say, it’s history.
Dancing through the night
If you are reading my recommendations/festival reviews, you must first know the kind of dancer I am right now. I would consider myself a «marathon dancer.»
Usually first in and last out of the dancefloor, as social dancing is my number 1 priority. I’m one of the persons, besides the artists, who have travelled the most in the recent years to dance. I’ve been taking classes from the very best throughout Europe for the last seven years and in 2024 started my venture as a dance teacher with my partner in crime @ptrcbc . Now I travel sometimes as a guest dancer, others as a teacher and some just to enjoy the festival. I go to zouk, bachata, salsa and kizomba festivals but I only write, for now, reviews for bachata festivals.
